WIP Scarf

It's been a really really long time since I've been around and honestly I'd kind of forgotten about this blog. It's been a long few years and life has been crazy but hopefully I won't abandon this again.

I've made many many many things in this time away, the most proud of which is a couple of costumes for comic cons, including one I'm working on for this year. I've also learned how to make a lightsaber in this time which is turning out amazing.

Well enough of that now so a little update is in order--- my current knitting WIP is an infinity scarf of my own design (pattern coming soon), its being made with HiKoo Rylie yarn which is 50% Baby Alpaca/ 25% Mulberry Silk/ 25% Linen in Abalone color and it's GORGEOUS. This yarn is so soft and airy and breathable, this scarf is going to be amazing for spring/summer time.

This picture doesn't do it justice.

I anticipate that after finishing and blocking, that it will be approx. 72" around and 14" wide, so plenty of length to hang loose or wrap up like a cowl.

That's all for today, look for another update soon!

Simple Cute Fall Decor

Being a crafter I decided any kind of traditional fall decor was just not for me. I had some fabric pumpkins from last year and wanted something to go with them that just seemed me..
Hence my embroidery hoops wall hanging...

Project took about 30 minutes start to finish and under $20.

Latest Projects...

Well it's been a while since I've posted but I've definitely been busy crafting so here it is all at once:

Today's projects:
I haven't been able to find a lunch bag I liked but then I found this tutorial via pinterest. It's super detailed with pictures and whatnot and very very easy to follow, combine that with some supplies from work and a couple hours later and voila!! Lunch bag I love!!

Remnant-canvas fabric-find cut into rectangles, filled with rice and stitched closed...now I have a heating/cooling pad for sore muscles or injuries and a couple of "ice" packs for my lunch bag. All together about a $2 project.

Current project:

Fingerless gloves made of black sparkly yarn using the awesome double point needles I received for Christmas. One down, one to go, then a cowl or hat to match and then post for sale!

Previous projects:

Card holder made from some scrap fabric, simple half hour project now I have a useful little thing for storing business cards to hand out!

Discovered the entrelac knit stitch randomly a couple months ago and after some internal debate, settled on making a hat with it. It was pretty easy and a lot of fun to make...I think a scarf may be in order next!

Well that's all for now but more will come soon!
Happy crafting!!

Pinterest finds I wish to try...

This looks so cool...I would make so many scarves...

These I am definitely trying with Japanese symbols. How cute would it be in a flower clip?

Also, yarn wreaths are my new obsession. I really need to just make one already.

First item now for sale!

Hello fellow crafters and craft followers!

Its been quite a process but I have finally listed my first item for sale on Etsy! (And there was much rejoicing)
So what is this item? Well its...this:

Its a daisy baby blanket crocheted by yours truly. Took me a while to finish simply because I tend to get bored with big projects easily, but I am working on that flaw. Anywho, its done now and up for sale. The picture will take you to the listing or you can find it in my shop at hoppingturtle.etsy.com.

I hope whoever gets it, loves it dearly for I have loved making it.

Have a blessed day and happy crafting!
